Dr. Zhu Shen

Dr. Zhu Shen is an award-winning business leader, author, speaker, media personality, China expert, and thought leader in cross-Pacific life science business. She is the CEO of BioForesight, a life science strategic consulting company providing media/public relations, licensing, partnering, investment advisory, CRO/outsourcing strategy, cross-cultural communications & negotiation training to clients globally.  She is the producer of “The Art & Science of Networking and Social Media: A Practical Guide to Your Professional Networking Success,” an educational DVD. She is also the executive producer of a popular radio talk show on wsRadio, “Perry Previews the Movies,” featuring her 9-year-old son Perry Chen, the youngest movie critic.

Dr. Shen is widely known as the “Diva of Networking.”  Over the course of her career, she has developed over 10,000 direct business contacts in her global network and close to 9 million contacts in her Linkedin network across life science, technology, business, non-profit, education, media, and entertainment industries around the world.  Her ability in “creating lasting and meaningful business relationships” and her “sharp intuitive sense of how to find, reach and draw in the people who can help achieve your professional goals” are evident in her success in building a rich and fulfilling career in varied fields, and in her efforts to give back to the community.

Dr. Shen is active in several non-profit organizations, serving on the advisory board of American Chinese Culture & Education Foundation (ACCEF) that raises funds to build schools in remote rural areas of China.  She is Vice Chairman of SABPA, and serves on the board of Asian Art Coordinating Council.

Dr. Shen received the 2006 Asian Heritage Award. She was nominated for the Athena Pinnacle Award in 2007, 2008, and 2009; and the San Diego Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Award in 2008 and 2009.

Dr. Shen earned her Ph.D. in biochemistry from University of Colorado and her MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell University.  She attended Peking University and Peking Union Medical College.  Prior to starting BioForesight, she held positions at The Wilkerson Group/ IBM, Bayer, Chiron, and Immusol with increasing responsibilities in marketing, strategic planning, corporate communications, and business development.
